Risk #1: Injured Gums<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Having leftover food or another object lodged in your connective tissues can be both frustrating as well as damaging to your dental health. Risk #3: Developing Infection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your mouth is already full of germs, and unfortunately, cuts and wounds on your gums can become infected. This can cause throbbing and inflammation that can spread to surrounding tissues and even impact your jawbone. From there, the disease can enter your bloodstream and travel to other areas of your body, contributing to other serious health concerns, such as sepsis, heart problems, lung disease, and diabetes. In severe cases, it can even reach the brain, causing an abscess or other issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
