Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

As mentioned before, Dr. Galvez has always had a deep-rooted enthusiasm for being artistic with her hands, such as playing musical instruments. However, she also had a strong interest in the sciences and how they can be used to help improve the lives of others. Fortunately, dentistry offers her the opportunity to combine both art and medicine, allowing her to make the most of both her creative and critical thinking sides.

Dr. Galvez also shadowed Dr. Ron D’Andrea and Dr. Bob Pantera for two years during her undergraduate studies, during which they mentored her throughout her education about the art of exceptional dentistry and patient care. Today, she aspires to bring the same level of skill and expertise to the office that helped her grow!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After graduating from Morris Catholic High School, Dr. Galvez moved on to study at Quinnipiac University where she discovered her interest in dentistry. She then attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She also spent an extra year of training at a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.

Dr. Galvez regularly seeks continuing education to refine her skills so that her patients receive the highest-quality care they deserve. She’s also an active and proud member of several professional organizations, including the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Connecticut State Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

When she isn’t at the office, Dr. Galvez enjoys spending time reading, kayaking, going to Orangetheory Fitness classes, playing the piano and guitar, and singing. One interesting fact about her: she used to sing the National Anthem for the Quinnipiac Hockey and Basketball teams during her time studying at Quinnipiac.
