Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Ritchie was drawn to dentistry because it sits at the intersection of science, precision, creativity, and human connection in a way very few careers do. She has always been someone who notices details and enjoys solving problems thoughtfully and methodically, while also wanting a profession that feels personal and impactful on a daily basis.
What really made dentistry stand out to her was the combination of technical skill and trust. Patients are allowing providers into one of the most vulnerable spaces in healthcare, and the ability to change how someone feels, whether by getting them out of pain, rebuilding confidence in their smile, or simply making them feel comfortable and understood, is incredibly rewarding.
She also appreciates that no two days are the same. Dentistry constantly challenges her to think critically, work with her hands, communicate effectively, and continue learning. It is a field where small details matter, relationships matter, and there is an opportunity to make a lasting difference in people’s lives over time.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After growing up in Charlottesville, Virginia, Dr. Ritchie attended the University of California, Los Angeles for her undergraduate education before moving to Los Angeles to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. Following dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Michigan, where she received advanced clinical training in comprehensive patient care and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
After residency, Dr. Ritchie moved to New Hampshire and worked in community health dentistry, an experience that was both rewarding and formative, strengthening her ability to provide compassionate, comprehensive care to patients from diverse backgrounds. In July 2025, she relocated to Connecticut and joined D'Andrea and Pantera Dental in August 2025.
She is passionate about continuing education and staying current with modern techniques, materials, and technology in dentistry. Her recent continuing education has included advanced CAD/CAM training through CDOCS focused on efficient same-day crown workflows and anterior esthetics, as well as ongoing participation in the Advanced Periodontics Implant Study Club. She also attended Yankee Dental Congress 2026 as part of her commitment to lifelong learning and continually refining her clinical skills in restorative, esthetic, and comprehensive dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ritchie enjoys staying active and trying new workout classes, everything from strength training to Pilates and fitness studios she discovers while traveling. She also enjoys visiting friends around the country and exploring new cities, restaurants, coffee shops, and local spots wherever she goes.
She values balancing a busy professional life with fun experiences and meaningful connections. Whether it is planning a weekend trip, spending time outdoors, finding a new favorite brunch spot, or unwinding with friends, she appreciates experiences that keep life exciting, social, and balanced.
